Pullela Gopichand, the man behind the success of Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, and Kidambi Srikanth. After his retirement from the Badminton, he started a Badminton Academy in Hyderabad and he succeeded to make Badminton players from his academy. Recently in an Interview, director Praveen Sattaru said that he is writing script on Pulley’s biopic in which he wants to tell about how a guy who loved to be a Badminton player emerged as The Chief National Coach of Indian Badminton Team. And, it’s becoming a challenge to him to tell this biography within 3 hours. And, he accepted that he will be directing the Pullela Gopichand’s Biopic. And now, Fox Star Studios officially confirmed this Biopic. According to the reports, this Biopic will be a bilingual and will get released in Hindi and Telugu. We know the reason that Pullela Gopichand’s mother tongue is Telugu. The famous trade analyst ‘Taran Adarsh’ shared this news on his twitter as “Fox Star Studios collaborates with Abundantia Entertainments [#Baby and #Airlift] to present the biopic of ace badminton player and Chief National Coach of Indian Badminton team Pullela Gopichand. The biopic will be made in Hindi and Telugu…Scripting underway…Shoot commences mid-2018.”




A biopic on Pullela Gopichand has been announced by Fox Star Studios. According to the reports, the film will be bilingual as it will release in both Hindi and Telugu since Telugu is Gopichand’s mother tongue as he hails from Andhra Pradesh. Today, on the birthday of Gopichand, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter as he wrote, “Fox Star Studios collaborates with Abundantia Ent [#Baby and #Airlift] to present the biopic of ace badminton player and Chief National Coach of Indian Badminton team Pullela Gopichan. The biopic will be made in Hindi and Telugu… Scripting underway… Shoot commences mid-2018.”




Gopichand is one of the top badminton players in the country and won the prestigious All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001. He retired in 2003 and opened country’s premier badminton institution Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. The sports academy has produced a few of the country’s leading badminton players such as Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, and Srikanth Kidambi.
Expressing his feeling over the biopic, Gopichand said, “Badminton is at an inflection point in our country and nothing delights me more than to see the rapidly growing interest for the sport, especially with the youth. I would be proud if by sharing my story as a film, we can encourage more and more people to pursue their dreams. I am excited about the developments in the film.”
