Gopichand movies are facing hurdle for release and even A. M. Rathnam produced ‘Oxygen’ also delayed for its release. After getting postponed many times, Gopichand’s Oxygen is finally released on today. Is this movie give much-waited success to Gopichand? Let’s see in our review.
Sanjeev (Gopichand) is a sincere Army officer and he went to his hometown for vacations. At there, he finds a threat to country so he started a mission named ‘Oxygen’ with his military network. Now, the story turns to a village in which there is a rivalry between two faction groups headed by Jagapathi Babu and Sayaji Shinde. This is the time the daughter of Jagapathi Babu is Sruthi (Raasi Khanna) gets engaged with a Krishna Prasad, NRI and he saves the family from Sayaji Shinde gang. Everything is going fine then and all get reversed when Krishna Prasad kills the brothers of Jagapathi Babu and his gang. Who is Krishna Prasad? Who is Sanjeev? Why he killed Jagapathi Babu Family? What is the mission Oxygen? Who is Anu Emmanuel in this story? You have to see it on a big screen to find answers for these all.
The movie story is good and the twists surely make the audience to blown. Interval bang is too good and it surprises all. Gopichand is too good in performance as Sanjeev and Krishna Prasad and he steals the show with his mannerisms and high voltage action scenes. Raashi Khanna is good in performance and does manage her role very well. Anu Emmanuel had a brief role as a scientist and she did a great job in glam and emotional scenes. Jagapathi Babu has performed very well and the twists in his character reveal at the climax are impressive. Sayaji Shinde, Brahmaji, and Abhimanyu Singh are also played their roles well. The second half is too good and gripping and the entire first half is just a time pass. Yuvan Shankar Raja music is average in songs but done an impressive work in the background score. Director Jyothi Krishna’s concept is good but he is not able to narrate the story in a convincing way. You can feel that you are watching two movies for one ticket. His screenplay is also confusing and makes the movie drag.
Oxygen Plus Points:
1. Gopichand performance
2. Interval Bang and Twists
3. Second Half
Oxygen Minus Points:
2. Jyothi Krishna direction
On the whole, Oxygen had a good concept but the execution is not good with mediocre direction. The story has many traces from other revenge Telugu films. Still, Gopichand performance, heroines glamour, high voltage action scenes, twists make it one time watch if you are a fan of action films.
